Homeschoolers

Penny and Rio books are great teaching tools for Homeschoolers.

See what the Homeschool Buzz has to say:

“These cute books are great for kids who are ready for short chapter books. With a little mystery mixed together with its colorful illustrations, you may find your readers wishing to finish these books in one sitting! Dog lover or not your child will enjoy the canine antics and parents will smile when they read for themselves what a dog really means when he whines and scratches at the door. And, it’s nice to have a story that is as wholesome as these are: the books are dove family approved.”  HomeschoolBuzz.com,  Oct 2009

As a home-schooling mom of five children, I’m always looking for new and fun curriculum that will excite my kids.  Since one of my kids is dyslexic, I have struggled to find any books that will spark her interest enough to read from start to finish; without giving up in frustration!   I FINALLY found it with “Penny and Rio: The Mysterious Backyard Meeting”.  My daughter is a huge dog lover, so this book was a big hit!  She actually read the whole thing in one sitting!  And then asked when can she read the next book!  Author Jennifer Swanson also wrote curriculum to go along with the book.  We spent an entire week going over different themes of the book, role-playing and coming up with new adventures for Penny and Rio to go on.  It also included writing assignments and a readers quiz at the end.  My dyslexic daughter had so much fun during our “Penny and Rio Week”, I now have a child who loves to read!  Thank-you for such a wonderful curriculum!  I highly recommend it to any home-schooling family.
